From PK to Drishyam 3: The Rs 300 Crore Club List

Ajay Devgn's Drishyam 3 has made him the 14th actor on a list that Movie Talkies keeps of stars whose first Rs 300 crore film has arrived. It is a fun list to read, because it shows how differently careers reach the same number.

What stands out

Aamir Khan sits alone at the top as the first. Shah Rukh Khan, who is often assumed to own every box office record, appears at No. 6, with Pathaan in 2023. Ahaan Panday is on the list with Saiyaara in 2025, while Devgn arrives in 2026. The Movie Talkies piece notes that several leading actors took years to reach the milestone while some achieved it with early films.

The list also mixes Hindi-language stars with South Indian ones whose films earned big Hindi numbers, including Prabhas, Yash and Allu Arjun. The article does not spell out exactly how each figure is counted, so treat it as a rough guide.

Rajkummar Rao's entry is the one most people would not have predicted a decade ago. His film Stree 2 is also reported by Wikipedia to have earned over Rs 8.75 billion worldwide, making it the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2024.

The 2026 batch

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh, quoted by NDTV, called Drishyam 3 the fourth Hindi film to enter the Rs 300 crore net club in 2026, after Dhurandhar 2, Border 2 and Hanuman Ansh. Devgn's film passed Tanhaji, which finished at Rs 279.59 crore net, as his best.

How to read it

Box-office totals depend on the tracker. Movie Talkies says Drishyam 3 had Rs 301 crore at the time of its report, while NDTV, quoting Sacnilk, gave Rs 309 crore for the same day and Koimoi later showed Rs 341.6 crore net after 16 days. Net also differs from gross. A list of firsts is therefore a good starting point for an argument, and a bad one for a final ranking.
